Business Plan 2008/9 to 2010/11
This draft three-year rolling Business Plan serves as a replacement for the NDA’s Annual Plan and sets out our planned work for 2008/9 in some detail with the subsequent two years covered in outline. This approach was taken to reflect the long-term nature of our work and give stakeholders earlier visibility of future work, subject to availability of funding.
Responding to stakeholders’ comments, the draft Business Plan also gives more information about the planned activities of the NDA itself while retaining an overview of the work to be carried out by Site Licence Companies (SLCs) on the NDA’s sites.

Review of Stakeholder Engagement Arrangements and Processes
The first two years of the NDA's stakeholder engagement programme made good progress, with the establishment of a Stakeholder Charter, a National Stakeholder Group and two subsidiary groups examining issues in more detail: the Materials Issue Group (MIG) and the Waste Issue Group (WIG) respectively. This is in addition to the establishment of the local arrangements including Site Stakeholder Groups.
The November '06 meeting of the National Stakeholder Group (NSG) recognised that the context of engagement around decommissioning is always changing and it would be appropriate to review the overall arrangements the NDA has in place. The meeting agreed that the NDA and the Convenor should conduct such a review and report to the next NSG meeting on how they intend to move forward.
The consultation paper was the result of the review. It covers the rationale for conducting a review, the components involved in it, the main recommendations and proposed way forward for future engagement.
A draft engagement plan was then produced in response to the findings of the process review. It sets out what topics the NDA will need to be taking decisions on over the next 12-18 months and therefore what engagement will be needed.
